What was your first impression of the film crew and the process of being interviewed?
The crew knew the storyline that they wanted to explore and had done their research. They seemed to work in harmony and it clearly wasn’t their first rodeo.
What did you learn about filming?
Drones are difficult and don’t like to cooperate.
What did you expect prior to viewing the movie?
I expected to like it but I wasn’t ready to be blown away. But that’s just the feeling I had. The cinematography and the editing were outstanding and the storyline had a beautiful flow.
What did it feel like to see your peers’ reactions at Podfest during the first run screening?
The buzz factor was huge and it wasn’t just because I had a few cocktails during the show. It felt very rewarding to have people come up to me and tell me that my little ten second vignette was “the profound moment.” It was an enjoyable evening all around as podcasters from around the world, even those who weren’t featured, felt what they were doing and working so hard at had been validated.
What impact do you think this movie will have?
I think this film is going to spawn hundreds if not thousands of new podcasts. Because of that, millions worldwide will be touched and it will make a difference in their lives. In addition, it will put podcasting on the map in terms of a mainstream appeal.
Anything you’d like to add?
Just a trivia piece. From the first time you see me in the film, until the closing credits I’m like half a person. I lost 40lbs from one shot to the next. People will probably be scratching their heads to think that there are two private club guys out there in the world. Haha.
